Rhode Island’s iconic Roger Williams Park is a beloved gathering place for families, especially during spring break and the summer months. But while walking paths and other open spaces at the park are currently open, the Roger Williams Park Zoo is closed temporarily to help keep everyone healthy.

But we have good news for your young Rhode Islanders waiting patiently at home. The team at the zoo has found away to bring the animals to you through Zoo School.

The Roger Williams Park Zoo of Providence was founded in 1872, making it one of the oldest zoos in the country.

Typically, the zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Roger Williams Park Zoo / Googlr It’s also known for its fun annual events, like the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular held every October. There are also numerous concerts, children’s events, and even family overnights.

Unfortunately, the zoo has been closed since mid-March, and many upcoming events have been canceled.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 p.m., a new episode of Zoo School is released.

Zoo School offers a behind-the-scenes look at the zoo animals and the humans who care for them.
