We’re lucky to have dozens of waterfront restaurants with stunning views here in Louisiana. Tucked away in the small town of Manchac, there’s one restaurant that’s stood the test of time, and you definitely need to check it out.

Established in 1934, Middendorf’s is one of those restaurants that anyone in the area has heard about.

Louis and Josie Middendorf opened what was originally a modest cafe in 1934.

Middendorf’s Seafood Restaurant/Facebook Josie did all the cooking using her own personal recipes while Louis bartended and mingled with the customers— it’s a true family owned and operated business.

Middendorf’s remained a family run business until 2007 when it was sold to Horst and Karen Pfeifer.

The views on the outdoor deck are simply amazing.

One of the best parts of Middendorf’s that you can also access it by boat!
