Franz Jevne State Park is a 118-acre park in northern Minnesota. It’s about 40 miles west of International Falls and 20 miles east of Baudette.

Though it’s Minnesota’s smallest state park, there is a lot to see at Franz Jevne. The main attraction is Rainy River. The park is adjacent to the river’s banks, with views of Canada right across the water.

The river is popular for fishing. Smallmouth bass and northern pike are just a few of the fish you can find in these waters. Shore fishing is popular, or you can use the boat launch to go a little further downstream.

There is also a lovely hike along the river. A two-mile loop trail along the banks offer gorgeous views of the water.

Trails also take visitors to other lovely nature sights. Along the park’s 2.5 miles of hiking trails, towering trees soar overhead. They’re filled with wildlife. Bring your binoculars to spot Minnesota birds!

Another hiking trail takes you to a rock outcrop that rises high above the park. It’s a great vantage point for birdwatching or having a picnic. In warmer months, you may even find wild blueberry bushes!
