You Don T Want To Miss Out On The Supermoon In Florida This Month

Mark your calendars, Floridians! There is a gigantic full moon headed our way and this one is not to be missed. Right around April 7th, 2020, you’ll be able to catch the largest full moon of the year, and some are even calling it a supermoon! The good news is, for many Floridians, you can snag some epic views of this lunar event from the comfort of your own backyard. Just grab some chairs, gather the family, whip up some cocoa, and enjoy the gargantuan supermoon in Florida.

This April, there is going to be the biggest full moon of the year, with some experts calling this one a supermoon!

Taking place on the night of April 7th to 8th, the moon will come the closest to the Earth that it will get for the entire year.

The pink supermoon, otherwise dubbed the “Super Pink Moon” will be high in the sky for all to see, and you can score a front-row seat right in your own backyard.

April’s full moon was called the “pink moon” by colonial settlers and Native Americas hundreds of years ago.

The reason it is nicknamed the “pink” moon is due to the fact that it is during this same time of year that the pink wildflower, creeping phlox (or moss pink) blooms in the northeastern United States.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean that moon will glow a neon pink as it rises, the word supermoon indicates that it will be big and BRIGHT.

What’s even more exciting is that April marks the beginning of some other astronomical activities, like the Lyrid meteor shower peaking on April 22nd.
