Who knew we South Carolinians were so devoted to our beach time? Apparently it took a global pandemic to realize just how much we actually love going to the beach – even with the occasional struggle we endure to get there. With the familiar sights and smells of springtime – and a return to very pleasant weather, it’s normal when you live in the Palmetto State to have the urge to sink your toes in the sand and venture into the surf. But, if you’ve yet to make that a reality this year then, at the very least, enjoy a beautiful South Carolina sunrise from your favorite spot along the coast via the following five beach cams!
Edisto Beach
Flickr/Kim Wright Die hard fans of Edisto Beach know the magic of a sunrise seen from one of the most laid-back spots on the South Carolina coast! Get a peek at one yourself, by visiting this link!
Folly Beach
Flickr/la fattina Live life to the fullest when you watch the sun rise from the Edge of America. Folly Beach’s nickname is as much of a state of mind as it is pure geography. Can’t quite make it over there in person to see the sunrise as often as you’d like? See it every day at this link.
Isle of Palms
Flickr/Alistair Nicol We’ve all been missing our favorite beaches this spring, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a few quiet moments each morning (and all day, for that matter) via the Windjammer’s many cameras, including two different surf cams that are perfect for watching the sun come up. Get a peek here.
Kiawah Island
Flickr/Jeff For those who get to spend the night at Kiawah and see the sun rise in the morning, it’s sweet bliss. If you’re still waiting for the opportunity to do so in person, or if you’re just missing your home away from home on Kiawah Island, check out the sunrise action on this webcam! Myrtle Beach
Flickr/Fran Tradeau Those who’ve experienced the boardwalk during the day or night know things can get pretty crowded - in the best way possible. But to see it at sunrise, when only a few people may be venturing out to watch the sun come up is another story! Check it out here! (Live Stream courtesy of Earth Cam)
