Taking up nearly half an acre, the Sacramento rose garden is one of many gardens that were created by a nonprofit organization called International World Peace Rose Gardens (IWPRG.) There are currently nine World Peace Rose Gardens across the world.

Created in 1988, the IWPRG’s main purpose is to build beautiful rose gardens for peace on public and accessible sites. The gardens are meant to be a place where people can gather and find themselves inspired by the abundance of natural beauty.

Each World Peace Rose Garden boasts its own unique atmosphere and you’re bound to fall in love with the one you find at State Capitol Park. The Victorian-inspired garden boasts a humble courtyard with a fountain in the center, along with several other elegant design features.

Most importantly, the abundance of roses is truly mesmerizing. Boasting about 650 roses in over 150 varieties of colors and fragrances, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a little slice of heaven as you try to admire each and every one.

You’ll also find dozens of inspirational messages engraved onto plaques that have been placed throughout the garden. This is truly a place where you can slow down, forget about your worries, and simply enjoy Mother Nature’s incredible gifts.
