Minnesota is a land of waterfalls! Every region of the state is home to at least one gorgeous falls, and the North Shore is no different. In fact, this part of Minnesota is blessed with several amazing waterfalls that everyone should visit at least once. Gooseberry Falls is among the most popular, and the High Falls of the Pigeon River is the highest. Also along the North Shore is Cascade Park. The waterfalls here aren’t the most popular or the biggest, but they still attract plenty of attention thanks to their wild, rugged beauty. Visit this park to watch the Cascade River tumble over a rocky gorge on its way to Lake Superior. Here’s what you need to know:

Cascade River State Park is a beautiful stretch of northern Minnesota. It encompasses 118 acres of the North Shore near Lutsen, Minnesota.

Though Cascade River is quite small for a Minnesota state park, there is plenty to do there. It is home to 18 miles of hiking trails, which lead to some seriously spectacular views.

Arguably the best trails are those that follow along the Cascade River. This 17-mile river follows a rugged path through the park on its journey to Lake Superior.

A rough gorge cuts through the park. It is through this gorge that the Cascade River flows. Jutting rocks create an amazing, beautiful path for the river.
