But did you know we also have the oldest community library that still occupies its original building in the United States? The Redwood Library and Athenaeum is a must-see for book lovers everywhere. Not only is it packed with literature, but the building itself is beautiful.

Located in Newport, The Redwood Library and Athenaeum was founded in 1747, which makes it especially impressive that it still occupies its original space.

While the building has obviously been renovated, remodeled, and expanded, you can still view the original entrance.
