We’ve seen a lot of exciting new restaurant openings in Missoula in recent years — but when the beloved Buttercup Market and Café closed in early 2019, the locals were devastated. However, that paved the way for Nonna’s Neighborhood Eatery to take over the space, and we couldn’t be happier. The next time you’re in the city, stop in and try something delicious.
Nonna’s opened in the summer of 2019 in Missoula’s University District, after the owner of Buttercup Market and Café decided she was ready to close up shop and sell the business.

Believe it or not, Stekly had only 10 days to decided if she wanted to embark on this life-changing venture.
Nonna’s Neighborhood Eatery / Facebook Stekly was living in Spokane, Washington at the time, managing a small bar and eatery there. The owner of Buttercup called her and said she’d give her a deal, but she had to act fast. Stekly said yes, moved to Missoula, and never looked back.
Stekly wasted no time in transforming the space into Nonna’s Neighborhood Eatery.

The cafe sells sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast pastries, and so much more.

The rotating quiches are exceptional and make a perfect morning meal.
