Have you ever seen a replica of one of the symbols of the United States before? I’m sure you’ve seen a few of the 25+ statues of liberty sprinkled around our state, but what about a Liberty Bell? This Liberty Bell replica is more than you’d expect. Instead of metal, it’s made entirely of wheat! The museum is amazing, and this bell is truly the star of the show. Next time you’ve got spots open on your road trip through the area, consider adding this museum to the list!

This large museum encompasses in total 8 buildings, which tell the story of Mennonite immigrants who settled nearby in 1874. On display are numerous farming machines, old photographs, and tools.

Of course, our pride and joy at the museum is the wheat Liberty Bell replica. Local Mennonites crafted it out of turkey red wheat, and wanted it to be hung at the Smithsonian during the 1976 Bicentennial.

Admission as listed on the sign is $2.50 per child 7-12, and $5 for 12 and up. You can also make appointments, become a member, and more.

This museum has seasonal hours. In March, April, October, and November, they are usually open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. In May through September, they’re open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
