Everyone knows that ghost towns are scattered throughout the Cowboy State, remnants of a mining industry that boomed and busted. What might come as a surprise, though, are that several of these ghost towns in Wyoming are known to be haunted, too. When you think about, many of these towns were the site of tragic deaths because pioneer life was not easy and mining is a dangerous occupation even with modern precautions, so it makes sense that spirits may be lingering. First, stop in to the eerie abandoned town of Kane.

Due to the construction of the Yellowtail Dam, Kane became flooded by the Bighorn Lake reservoir. It was as if the town disappeared overnight, and residents had no say. There is a cemetery there that still exists today. Supposedly, there is a lady who lingers in the cemetery known as the “Blue Lady.” Her children drowned and it is said that she remains there to continue looking for them.

Before the town went belly-up, Amelia Earhart had begun buidling a cabin there - though she never made it back from her famous flight to enjoy her Kirwin vacations. Paranormal investigators have flocked to Kirwin for their work, and Haunted Hotels of America filed a documentary based on paranormal happenings there. Apparently, they caught an unexplained voice on their recording device. One of their cameras also caught an unusual floating object. Also, footsteps and knocking were heard as well as the experience of spiked levels of energy.

The air here feels uneasy, like lingering spirits have not quite moved on. The cemetery is particularly creepy, because most of the graves belong to young children. People have reportedly heard crying babies and voices from the spirits coming from the cemetery.
Atlantic City is next on your journey, and this town is a breath of fresh air.

The most common hauntings in Atlantic City are ones that are unexplained entities with human forms.
