Listed as number seven in the list, Virginia stands out for offering a high quality of life. For those who are looking for a comfortable place to retire, Virginia just might be the perfect candidate.

The methodology behind the study incorporated 47 different metrics, ranging from tax friendliness to access to public transportation, mildness of weather, and even golf courses per capita.
