Weirdly wonderful, the eatery’s walls are plastered with license plates, bumper stickers, and dollar bills. The quirky vibe isn’t the only thing that landed the Tamale Shak a spot on MSN’s list, though.

As the name implies, the restaurant’s specialty is tamales. A customer favorite, the corn husk-wrapped tamales are made using a generations old recipe.

In addition to traditional tamales, the eatery serves up tamale pie. A tasty twist on the classic dish, tamale pie is made with four mild or spicy tamales topped with chili, cheese, beans, and pico de gallo.
