One of the things we love most about the state of Maine is the hardworking folks who live here! These are the people that make some of our favorite shops and restaurants possible. And, in this case, these are the folks who have created one of the most wonderful little general stores we’ve ever seen. Located on a working farm, this little place is worth visiting from anywhere in the state.
Make your way to the midcoast and then wind your way to Whitefield and you’ll find a very special farm.

Owned by Ben and Taryn Marcus, opening Sheepscot General was part of the deal when they first began renting the land of Uncas Farms back in 2009. Since then, the store has become a major community hub and they’ve since purchased the land.

Located in a beautiful setting, the general store is so much more than just a place to stock up on supplies.

In fact, the cafe was opened after realizing that so many people gravitating to the store and ended up spending significant time here.
