A great hike doesn’t have to go on for miles and miles. Some of the state’s shortest hikes are also the sweetest – and that’s the case with the Fonferek’s Falls Loop Trail. The trail is less than a mile in length, but it’s jam-packed with amazing sights, including a waterfall and large rock formations. Take a look:

Fonferek’s Glen County Park is located in the small town of Ledgeview, which is near Green Bay.

The entrance looks more like a farm, rather than a park; however, there’s signage to let you know you’re in the right place.

Dubbed a geological gem, the 74-acre park boasts some incredible features. In addition to a cascading 30’ waterfall, there are limestone cliffs and a stone archway.

A creek, gravel quarry, agricultural fields, and a natural prairie are a few of the park’s other notable features.

There’s so much beauty to soak in at the park. Luckily, the Fonferek’s Glen Loop Trail makes it easy to explore the park’s grounds.

The 0.5-mile loop trail begins and ends at the scenic Fonferek’s Glen Falls.

From the waterfall, the trail meanders right past the park’s natural stone bridge and along Bower Creek, making for a scenic stroll.

Incredible views fill the entire park, but some of the best can be found at the park’s scenic overlook, which looks down on the waterfall.

Remember, that, while Fonferek’s Glen Loop Trail is short, the terrain is a bit rugged and contains steep cliffs and falling rock, so exercise caution when visiting.
