Have you ever wondered how life was for early Acadian settlers? Well, there’s a fascinating little village over in Lafayette where you can learn all about the history of these early settlers in Cajun Country and get a glimpse of what their day-to-day lives were like.

If you’ve never been to LARC’s Acadian Village before, you’re in for a real treat.

Acadian Village is a replica of a typical 1800s Cajun Village, and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back in time when you arrive.

When you arrive, you’ll head over to the General Store to purchase your tickets.

You’ll be able to get a glimpse of how early Acadians lived when you step inside some of the buildings.

Seven of the 11 buildings within the village are authentic homes from the 19th-century that were donated by the families whose ancestors once occupied them.
