The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes stretches for 73-miles between the towns of Mullan and Plummer. It follows the historic Union Pacific Railroad and boasts many entry points and trailheads across its entirety.

On the side closest to Mullan, cyclists and pedestrians will experience the splendor of Idaho’s historic Silver Valley. Surrounded by the Coeur d’Alene Mountains, the abundant natural beauty of this historic mining region will leave you floored.

From the Silver Valley, trail-goers will meander along the Coeur d’Alene River, past the shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene, and right over the Chatcolet Bridge to Heyburn State Park. You’ll even get the opportunity to actually rider over the lake.

The final stretch of the trail is noted for its wide-open, rolling farmlands. Closely following Plummer Creek before terminating just north of the town of Plummer, the scenery makes for a serene ending to this epic trail.
