Built in 1954 as the first Vickers Petroleum station, the beautiful design choice was developed by John Hickman, who apprenticed under Frank Lloyd Wright.

After a tornado in 1999, the Vickers station was one of the only remaining buildings on the east side of the street still intact. Because of that, the community decided to restore the building to the beautiful state you see now.

Today, it’s frequently the site of show car enthusiast meetings and motorcycle clubs, as well as the Haysville Chamber of Commerce meetings.

It’s a beautiful building, and we love the batwing-style design. Now that it’s on the National Register of Historic Places, we cherish it even more.

The Vickers station isn’t open to the public, but they may be open during special events. Keep an eye out for retro car shows and the like!
