With the entire country in lockdown as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it can seem like the future is a bit uncertain. While we are all quarantined in our homes with more free time on our hands, we thought we would put a smile on your face with a lighthearted post about what every New Orleanian is doing during the quarantine.  It’s important to laugh during these times, and we wish everyone reading this good health.

Sima dimitric/Flickr If you have kids or you’re working remotely, you may not have the flexibility to sleep in, but for many New Orleanians, you can hit the snooze a few extra times.

8:30am: Check the news

David Stewart/Flickr Just to keep up to date on where we stand amidst this global crisis.

9am: Scroll through the comments section.

Johan Larsson/Flickr Weigh in your opinion on local articles, fight with others about New Orleans.

9:30am: Breakfast!

Jimmy Emerson/Flickr With all this free time on your hands, maybe you commit to making something special to start your day, like chicken and waffles, or a fancy eggs Benedict.

10am: Call your friends and family

2pm: Nap time

Jacob Botter/Flickr All this quarantine sure is exhausting.

3pm: Make a roux

Daryn Nakhuda/Flickr Because, why not. You’re going to use it, and you’ve got nothing but time on your hands.

5pm: Dinner!

stu_spivack/Flickr What to do with that roux? Make a gumbo, of course!

6pm: Drinks

7pm: Take a walk around your neighborhood. With your cocktail.

Bernard Spragg/Flickr Check in with your neighbors, chat about football season. Yeah, Drew Brees!

8pm: Come home, fix another drink.

Wojtek Szkutnik/Flickr Because, why not?

9pm: Start soaking those beans.

Now more than ever, it’s important to support local businesses. Several restaurants around New Orleans are still open for delivery or take out services. If you can, support these stalwart eateries and enjoy a delicious meal from a local restaurant!
