Let’s have fun today, Pittsburgh! How’s your quarantine schedule looking? Probably a lot different than our normal schedules of just a few weeks ago. If you’re in quarantine, you probably either follow a schedule or just wing it every day. Here’s a lighthearted take on how some of our schedules might look right about now.
8 a.m. – Hit the snooze button. Repeatedly.
Flickr/William Ross We’re in quarantine. What’s the hurry in waking up?
9 a.m. – Shower and get dressed
Flickr/Brandon Zeman You can postpone the sports seasons, but you can’t damper our enthusiasm. That means wearing our favorite Steelers, Penguins, and Buccos gear. Or, maybe just put on your daytime PJs.
10 a.m. – Eat breakfast
Flickr/Wally Gobetz Anything goes during quarantine – cold pizza? Bacon and eggs? A stack of pancakes like Pamela’s Diner makes? You can even eat potato chips, if you want.
11 a.m. – Check out the news
Flickr/daveynin Log onto FB or Twitter to check the local news stations. Count how many random comments there are about the bike lanes in Pittsburgh. Fight with other yinzers over trolls. You know, the usual.
12 p.m. – Prepare and eat lunch
Flickr/Steve Wertz Pull out all of the ingredients for a hearty, bigger than you can fit in your mouth chipped ham sandwich. Pour a tall glass of Turner’s Ice Tea to go with it. Perfect lunch – chef’s kiss.
1 p.m. – Go for a walk
Flickr/fcastellanos Head outdoors to breathe in the fresh air. Say hi to everyone you pass and maybe have a conversation – all from at least six feet away to adhere to social distancing.
2 p.m. – Curl up for a nap
Flickr/Dean Shareski All that socializing from a distance calls for a leisurely nap.
3 p.m. – Check in with family and friends
Flickr/newkemall Call your family. Text your friends. Dish all the latest gossip.
4 p.m. – Rid up
Flickr/Killworth Simmonds Mutter under your breath at the mess everyone’s made as you rid up the house. Start making plans for a solo vacation to Lake Erie when this is all over.
5 p.m. – Have a drink
Flickr/Jen Lund Dream of the day when the liquor stores open again as you dig into your secret stash of your favorite beer or wine.
6 p.m. – Dinnertime
Flickr/Discover Lehigh Valley PA Sit down to a delicious meal of pierogis or if you’re not up for cooking, order take-out from one of your favorite Pittsburgh restaurants. Eat ‘N Park, perhaps?
7 p.m. – Go back online
Flickr/Abbyladybug Time to check out what’s going on again. Engage a few trolls and post funny Pittsburgh memes.
8 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Binge your favorite show
Flickr/Sarah Barker Sports are postponed. Marble racing on ESPN was fun for a bit. Now it’s time to kick back, relax, and binge our favorite shows. Get some snacks. Change into your nighttime jammies.
10 p.m. – Curl up in bed
Flickr/osde8info Curl up in bed. Play on your phone and flip through the stations on TV. Look at the clock, realize it’s now the middle of the night, and say goodnight.
Here’s a copy of the quarantine schedule. Stay safe, Pittsburgh! We’ll get through this. After all, we’re stronger together.
