Sometimes you stumble across a place that’s so unique, you don’t believe its real. That’s the first impression of many who visit this beloved hidden gem down in Terrebonne Parish. It’s a bit of a drive from New Orleans, but at just about 90 minutes each way, it’s worth every mile to see this one of a kind sculpture garden. You’ll certainly want to keep this place in mind for a fun summer road trip with your friends!

Not only does religion play a huge part in the sculptures, but Hill also put himself in a few of the sculptures, creating a self-proclaimed “story of salvation” throughout the garden.

One of the most impressive pieces to the garden is the massive 7,000 brick tower which features dozens of concrete sculptures mounted to the tower.

Hill was evicted from the property in 2000, and shortly afterward, Nicholls State University in Thibodaux took over maintaining the garden so that people can continue to be inspired by his work for years to come.
