Halfway in between Broadway and Main Avenue in Bismarck, North Dakota, is a vibrantly colorful alleyway that might just catch your eye. The Alley 5.5, also known as the Bismarck Art Alley, is worth stopping for.

This outdoor art gallery was a project started in 2016 that brought together local artists to transform what was otherwise just a boring alley into an incredible gallery of art pieces. Today, you can still walk the alleyway and see it for yourself.

The theme of the paintings is “reflections of North Dakota,” and you’ll find plenty of awesome perspectives of our wonderful state throughout the murals. It’s a perfect addition to ND’s capital city.
