Instead of going to overpriced arcades or sitting them in front of a screen with a $20 bag of popcorn, we recommend taking them on this easy Colorado out-and-back trail that will transport you all to another world:

Located near the tiny Boulder County town of Jamestown is the beautiful Ceran Saint Vrain Trail.

Spanning nearly 3.5-miles round-trip, the Ceran Saint Vrain Trail is considered to be an easy trip that is suitable for all skill levels, making it the perfect day hike to take with your littles.

Following alongside the tranquil South Saint Vrain Creek, the Ceran Saint Vrain Trail is the poster child of the Colorado hike, thanks to its incredible mountain scenery that is the epitome of the Centennial State!

The Ceran Saint Vrain Trail is open year-round but is best used between the months of March and October.

From Boulder, the Trail can be accessed by heading five miles north on US Highway 36 towards Lyons and then turning west onto Lefthand Canyon (with signs for Ward and Jamestown). Take Lefthand Canyon for 5 miles, follow the righthand fork toward Jamestown, and continue through town. When the road changes from pavement to gravel, continue for another 1/2 mile and turn off at the sign for the Ceran Saint Vrain Trailhead.
