Basically a treasure trove for outdoor enthusiasts, Devil’s Lake State Park is brimming with natural beauty…and incredible hiking opportunities. The Balanced Rock Trail is undoubtedly one of the park’s most popular trails. It’s also one of the most strenuous, which means that many residents are unwilling or unable to embark on the trail. Luckily, Skillet Creek Media recently released a virtual tour of the Balanced Rock Hike, so you can enjoy all the perks of the trail – minus the effort. Take a look:

Short and sweet, the Balanced Rock Trail is just .04 miles in length and boasts spectacular lake views and a famous rock formation.

Though short, the trek can be a bit challenging. With an elevation gain of nearly 500 feet, it’s somewhat steep.

It’s completely worth the effort. The trail leads to some great sights, including the Balanced Rock Formation, which is located near the top of the trail.

Expansive, breathtaking vistas of Devil’s Lake are another of the trail’s perks — and make for a great ending to a strenuous hike.
