On Saturday, February 8th, 2020, there will be a full moon known as the Snow Moon. If the sky is clear that night, you should be able to see it in its full glory as it reflects the sun’s light onto the trail.

The event begins at 6:00 PM when you should go to the park’s Visitor’s Center to begin the hike. People of all ages are welcome to join in, and even dogs can come along as long as they are leashed.

The park staff will have placed candle-lit luminaries along the one-mile route to guide you through the snow and trees. These beautiful lanterns add a special experience to set it apart from normal trails.

Walk, snowshoe, or cross-country ski at your own pace, following the lights, as the sun fully sets and the moon appears. After you’ve completed the route, you will return to the Visitor’s Center to warm up and enjoy snacks and refreshments.
