With more than 50 state parks, waysides, recreation areas, monuments, and historic sites, there are countless Hawaiian state parks to choose from, some more popular well-funded than others. One of our favorite parks also happens to be one of the smallest, measuring in at only 18.5 acres, and it needs some community help, which is where you come in: when you book an ocean excursion with the non-profit organization, Kama’aina Kayak and Snorkel Eco-Ventures, you’re directly supporting this stellar state park.
Tucked away on Oahu’s windward coast, Heeia State Park may be small — measuring in at less than 20 acres — but it packs a big punch when it comes to its panoramic views of the He’eia Fishpond, Kaneohe Bay, and the Ko’olau Mountains.
