When you hear the words “discovery zone,” what comes to mind? If you grew up in the 90s or had kids during this decade, chances are a catchy jingle from the Discovery Zone commercial is now in your head. Or maybe you’re immediately reminiscing about birthday parties, ball pits, roller slides, and just good old fashioned (somewhat dangerous) 90s fun. If you thought your days of Discovery Zone excitement were over, well think again. Our city is the lucky new location of this massive indoor playground in Cincinnati and now a new generation can risk the germs and injuries for all the same fun we had as kids.

Eventually, Discovery Zone filed for bankruptcy and all of the locations were closed by 2001. But now, almost 20 years later, this iconic indoor playground in Cincinnati is back.

Discovery Zone is located within Eastgate Mall, close to Dillards.

It’s not clear as to whether this is the exact same company as the previous Discovery Zone, but it sure does look similar.

The play structure forms a U shape, with tables in the middle for parents to sit and watch.

Discovery Zone has announced on their Facebook page that they plan on opening February 7th.

Like the original, there will be arcade games and other activities available that will accept tokens purchased on site.
