Maine offers some of the best, untouched nature in the country. It could be the result of having so much remote land. Or, it could just be that we see less people visiting and potentially adding to the burden.  Whatever it is, we’re thankful to have access to so much beauty in every corner of the state. This state park is wonderful, but it also features one of the cleanest lakes in the state!

Make your way to the midcoast and you’ll find one of Maine’s most lovely, but underrated state parks.

You can find Lake St. George State Park about 16 miles west of Belfast and 25 miles east of Augusta. Not surprisingly, it’s right on the banks of wonderful Lake St. George.

The lake is comprised of 1,017 acres and includes lots of small, undeveloped islands.
