If you’re lucky enough to live in Lewis and Clark County, you know what an incredibly beautiful area it is. And back in 1805, Captains Meriwether Lewis and William Clark thought so, too. They spent about five months exploring Montana during their expedition, and Meriweather Lewis himself crossed the Continental Divide on what is now the Alice Creek Trail #440. Hike this stunning trail yourself and retrace the footsteps of our history.
The Lewis & Clark Pass Alice Creek Trail is located near the small town of Lincoln in Helena National Forest.
Mike Kipp / alltrails.com While you’ll have several trails to choose from, if you hike the entire length of them, you’ll have covered almost 10 miles.
