We’re anticipating another beautiful summer here in Rhode Island, and you certainly don’t even have to leave the state to have a great time. We recommend visiting Little Compton when you get a chance — this tiny town is a total treasure.
Little Compton is located on the South Coast, near the town of Tiverton.

Part of the appeal of this town is that it remains largely unchanged, at least physically.

In 1682, the town was incorporated by the Plymouth Colony and renamed Little Compton. And although the town now has many modern amenities, visiting still feels like going back in time.
The town is surrounded by water on two sides, meaning there are some fantastic beaches.

The Sakonnet Light, a popular landmark, was built in 1884.

One of the most popular places to hang out in Little Compton is Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard.
