This Father’s Day Weekend just got taken to a whole new level! Or should we say altitude? Petit Jean Mountain and Airport will be a colorful sight filled with hot air balloons during the weekend. Let’s float around and find out more!
There’s an extra special reason to plan a trip to Petit Jean this month.
Petit Jean Balloon Events In addition to the normal stunning scenery and recreation, the Petit Jean Balloon Events and Helicopter Rides will be taking place from June 19th - 21st, 2020.
Although there’s not a full-fledged festival, this will be a fantastic outdoor event.
Facebook/Petit Jean Farmers’ Market This will not be a packed festival filled with vendors and visitors which means the event is social-distancing friendly. The majority of the event will be taking place at the Petit Jean Airport. This is where helicopter flights and tethered hot air balloon rides will be.
Helicopter rides are still available for those wanting a bird-eye’s view of the action…
Google/Steve Crowe These rides are only $20/person and take off from the airport. There are no age restrictions for flyers (ages 2 and younger are free) but there is a maximum of three guests per flight. You can reserve a spot here.
…however, this event doesn’t even require flying!
Google/Jerad Gardner The hot air balloon flights have sold out but you can still enjoy watching these giant works of art from the ground. You should be able to see the balloons on the north side of Petit Jean Mountain.
