There’s something magical about butterflies. Their transformational qualities and beautiful appearance remind us of the magic of nature. While it’s wonderful to spot a butterfly in the wild, there’s something uniquely special about seeing them fluttering around the Butterfly House at Norfolk Botanical Garden. This enclosed space keeps the insects happy and healthy as they travel from one bloom to the next. After you’ve visited with them, you can head to the adjacent Butterfly Maze, which measures an impressive two acres. It’s the perfect family outing to add to your summer itinerary.

Please Note: Norfolk Botanical Garden is currently closed due to the coronavirus. In the meantime, you can familiarize yourself with all the different kinds of butterflies you can look forward to seeing once the exhibit re-opens!

Did you know that there are more than 50 species of butterflies in the Tidewater region of Virginia? Visit Norfolk Botanical Garden’s butterfly house, and you can look forward to seeing many of these beautiful creatures.
