Muhanna Sweets In Oklahoma Has Been Making The Best Baklava Since 1935

Baklava is my favorite dessert and it seems to also be popular with many other Oklahomans, even though its origin is from the Middle East and not from around this part of the world. Luckily, we have one of the best baklava bakeries in the country in Tulsa – Muhanna Sweets. This family-owned business is an international franchise that started making sweets in 1935 in Damascus and the Muhanna family living in Oklahoma opened its first bakery in Tulsa in 2000.

Muhanna Sweets is located near 71st and Sheridan in Tulsa in a shopping center on the southwest corner. They have been at the same location since opening their doors in 2000.

Baklava is a dessert originating in the Middle East made of phyllo pastry and filled with chopped nuts and drenched in honey. One of the secrets to good baklava is just the right amount of honey…not too much but enough to make it sweeter than the rest of the ingredients.

The bakery is small and just serves the purpose of to-go orders. There is no dine-in seating, so be prepared to grab and go.
