Calling all rail fans… did you know there’s an enormous indoor train park in South Carolina that features a variety of model scale trains? Few places, alone, will bring out the kid in you quite like a visit to Model Trains Station, found inside a huge warehouse at Taylors Mill in Taylors. Let’s take a closer look:

Model Trains Station got started in a location in downtown Greenville in 2010 and quickly expanded before moving to larger accommodations at Taylors Mill Development in 2017.

With 16,000 square feet in which to play, some of the displays are simply enormous.

Many of the displays were donated by patrons and have particular attention to every little detail. Seen here, the Liebrandt display depicts a German village with two levels of tracks. The overall display is 47 feet by 20 feet, that’s nearly 1,000 square feet!

Each of the six main floor displays has multiple trains running at the same time, revving up the energy in this already exciting attraction.

As if the model train displays inside the warehouse aren’t enough, the sheer location of the attraction places it immediately beside a major thoroughfare for the Norfolk Southern’s main line track. Expect to see (and feel) real trains pass by on a regular basis making the visit more supercharged with train synergy.
