To catch the shower, you’ll have to be somewhere with as little light pollution as possible. Your luck may be better if you head into a more rural area of Minnesota.

The time is also important. Head out an hour or two before dawn to catch the best views.

For the best chance of seeing the meteors, go out on the night of April 21-22. The moon will be just 1% full, making the sky nice and dark.

If you manage to find a good spot, you’ll be greeted by the sight of hundreds of meteors streaking across the sky.

Unlike other meteor showers, the Lyrid shower meteors don’t always have trains that you can track across the sky. You’re more likely to see balls of fire.
