The Marilla Country Store is located at 1673 Two Rod Road in Marilla, NY, about 30 minutes from the city of Buffalo. The store was opened in 1851 and has been in continuous operation for over 160 years, but not without experiencing a bit of trouble!

An attempted robbery took the store by surprise.

The store owner was awakened by a burglar alarm at 1:40 AM and quickly grabbed his double barrel shotgun to head to the store. When he arrived, a gun fight began and although one was wounded, the three robbers escaped and were never caught. According to town rumors, one man went missing from town shortly after the event. It was believed that he was involved in the attempted robbery and the other two accomplices buried his body in the woods after their escape!
The store stands as a sign of the town’s rich history.
