Macey S Grocery Stores In Utah Serve Giant Soft Serve Ice Cream Cones

In the mood for a frosty treat? Utahns are well-known for their love of ice cream, and you’ll find plenty of parlors around the state. There’s one ice cream cone here that can’t be found at an ice cream shop, though. Head to Macey’s grocery store for a foot-tall soft-serve cone.

Macey’s got its start way back in 1947, when Walt Macey and Dale A. Jones opened a little store called “Save-A-Nickel-Market.” Today, the local chain includes 15 stores, from Ogden to Spanish Fork.

Associated Foods took over the stores in 1999, but they still have the same features as always - tons of fresh produce, a wonderful bakery, great case lot sales, and Kong Kones.
