During the Prohibition years, the M&M was forced to comply with national laws… so it officially became a cigar store.

The bar has also had some legal trouble, including raided by the Attorney General Marc Racicot for gambling violations in 1989. It has closed briefly a few times, but someone always finds a way to reopen it.
These days, the arcade and contraband liquor are long gone, but a full restaurant and legal bar remain.
