If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, chances are you’ve explored many of Virginia’s most famous waterfalls. Today, we’ll share the whereabouts of a wildly underrated waterfall that you likely haven’t visited. (And kudos to you if you have!) Located in Shenandoah National Park, Lewis Falls is a higher-altitude waterfall that tends to fly under the radar when compared to the park’s other scenic waterfalls. Yet you’ll find that this 2-mile loop is worth seeking out.

Many waterfall enthusiasts who visit Shenandoah National Park likely journey to Rose River Falls, Dark Hollow Falls, or perhaps Jones Run Falls. Today, we’ll introduce you to Lewis Falls, another bucket list destination in Shenandoah.

The trek to reach the waterfall is a relatively easy 2.8-mile loop that shares a portion of the Appalachian Trail.
