From the black sand beaches on the Big Island and Maui’s magnificent red sand beaches to pristine white sand beaches and turquoise waters on Oahu and Kauai, Hawaii is home to some of the most breathtaking beaches in the country — and perhaps even the world. With approximately 750 miles of coastline, the Hawaiian Islands are home to countless incredible beaches, and while we love the long stretches of sand you’ll find across the Aloha State, we can’t get enough of this itty bitty slice of paradise.
Tucked away on Oahu’s windward coast in the small town of Ka’awa’a, Kalaeoio Beach Park may measure in at only one acre in size but has made quite the impact on our hearts.

Located right along Kamehameha Highway, the beach park is home to a thin stretch of fine white sand and a grassy area with picnic tables and plenty of trees.

Surfing, swimming, and fishing are all popular activities here and though it’s certainly out of the way, we think Kalaeoio is truly worth a visit anytime of the year.

With crystalline turquoise waters and jaw-dropping surroundings — including the towering Ko’olau Mountains in the distance — this teeny tiny slice of paradise is as pretty as a postcard.

Due to its small size and rocky ocean bottom, you won’t find many people here — especially during the week — and you might just have the entire expanse to yourself.
