Summer is peach season, and it doesn’t take a trip to Georgia to enjoy ’em at their finest. Jenschke Orchards, located in the charming town of Fredericksburg, has some of the juiciest pick-your-own peaches Texas has to offer. Other crops, such as plums and blackberries, are also available, in addition to peach products like salsa and preserves.
Established in 1961, Jenschke Orchards is located on the famous Wine Road 290 in Fredericksburg. Seven generations have grown up on the family farm, only selling peaches grown onsite.

The orchard boasts 26 varieties of peaches on more than 5,000 trees. Picking season begins mid-May and usually runs through August, sometimes extending into September.

Nothing quite compares to the experience of picking your own fruit, taste-testing the various types as you stroll through the field. On a time crunch? No problem. You can get pre-picked peaches from the roadside stand.
