But that’s exactly where you’ll find Jake’s Pickup, a small counter service eatery with fresh, delicious, and mostly organic cuisine. Jake (Jacob Angel) grew up cooking with his family and started working in restaurants at the age of 15. He cooked his way through college and culinary school, where he focused on Baking and Pastry.

Shawn C / Google When Jake and his wife, Kristi, moved to Washington, Jake became the Head Chef at The Orcas Hotel and then moved on to Christina’s Food & Wine. Eventually, he and Kristi decided to open their own catering company, and eventually, a restaurant.

So… why gas station food?

The sandwiches, soups, salads, and grab-and-go food here is all made from scratch.

If you can’t visit during normal business hours, you’ll find the grab ’n go cooler stocked with to-go food for purchase.
