The doors of this iconic American amusement park and waterpark closed last year due to financial issues, and many locals are not pleased about it.

A petition was started in February to bring attention to the fact that this park is closed and will be torn down without a final season for people to say goodbye.

Though it originally only asked for about 20,000 signatures, the petition currently has nearly 45,000 and will likely exceed 50,000 signatures.

There is hope that someone will buy the park and continue operations as normal. Typically open Memorial Day through Labor Day, the park contains many campgrounds with permanent lake homes and rentals that locals are looking to have refunded if the park does not reopen.
