Each park offers its own list of hikes that range from short and paved to long and rugged. If you’re visiting the park for relaxation and scenery, you’re likely looking for a shorter trail that packs a big punch. In Pine Mountain State Resort Park, you’ll find just that. The loop trail to Honeymoon Falls is a short waterfall hike in Kentucky that does, indeed, offer a waterfall, but that’s just the beginning of the natural beauty you’ll find along this little loop trail.
Pine Mountain State Resort Park is located in southeastern Kentucky and boasts several scenic trails that wind through the mountain landscape.
Alltrails/Berniece Combs One of the most popular is the trail to Honeymoon Falls, located right next to the park’s lodge. At only a mile and a half, this is a fairly quick hike, but still very scenic.
You can actually choose from two trailheads for this hike, marked by yellow blazes.
Alltrails/Jason Eaton The trailhead closest to the lodge takes you counter clockwise and has a tougher elevation change, while the other begins on the road and climbs more gradually.
No matter which direction you choose, you’ll be met with thick foliage and a well-marked trail that’s great for all ages.

Alltrails/Bradley Mills You’ll find remnants of old buildings, creeks, rock formations, abundant plant life and much more.
And then there’s Honeymoon Falls, the largest waterfall in the park.
Alltrails/Berniece Combs The waterfall is almost always flowing, although it can be reduced to a trickle during very dry periods. You’ll want to spend some time here, listening to the water crash.
The waterfall is about 25 feet in height and pours down over a rocky cave opening.
