Hike To Stack Rock In Idaho For 360 Degree Views Of The Forest

One of the most beautiful views in Idaho is just a short drive away from Boise and the hike to it belongs on every adventurer’s bucket list. Its close proximity to the city makes the hike to Stack Rock a popular trek in the area, especially since the views would have you believe you’re a million miles away from civilization. The moderate day hike boasts a generous bit of elevation gain, but it’s an excursion even the casual hiker should be able to take on. Just a short drive away from Boise, the Stack Rock trail is a gorgeous respite that makes you feel a million miles away from it all. At nearly eight miles long, the trail is a fantastic option for a day hike when you feel like escaping the city and surrounding yourself with nature.

To find this awesome trail, take Bogus Basin Road from Boise for 13 miles until you come across a small parking area on the the side of the road. The trailhead can be found near the parking area and is well-marked so you can easily find it.

The trail itself is well-maintained and wide, making it ideal for all adventurers including hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners. The first section of trail is relatively flat but it ramps up in elevation gain approximately half a mile from the end destination.
