The days of enjoying the great outdoors without worrying about donning heavy layers and winter boots are almost here! In fact, some of us have already had a few of those. With each passing day that seems the temperatures get warmer, we get closer and closer to those day trips that lead us to swimming holes and trails throughout New Hampshire. When that time comes for you, consider this simple trail leading to one of the state’s most refreshing dips.
It’s possible that the most beautiful swimming hole in the world is sitting right here in our own New Hampshire! Just head to the Baldface Circle Trail near Center Conway to find it.

The trail and the pool are part of the White Mountains, but there are a few trails here so be sure to take the right one. To find it, make your way to the Baldface Trail parking are on Route 113. You’ll see signs for the trailhead.

From here you’ll follow the yellow markers to where the Balface Loop Trail splits into three different routes. Follow the sign indicating “Emerald Pool” and you’ll soon make it to your refreshing destination!

You’ll see the river that ultimately becomes the falls creating the pool. If you get confused, be sure to stick to the river. Eventually, you’ll spot the falls.

Enjoy yourself and cool off, but remember that this water is likely to be very cold even on a hot day. Once you’ve had your fill, you can continue to some of the more challenging hikes.
