Minnesota is full of hiking trails! These beautiful paths through nature are found in every region of the state. Not only are well-known nature areas like state parks and national forests full of trails. But Minnesota’s cities are home to many great hiking trails as well. Pike Island is a small island at the point where the Minnesota River meets the Mississippi River. Its area is just a few acres total, but it is a wonderful place to take a hike.

As you walk, you’ll run into some truly beautiful areas. This island is totally uninhabited, so you’ll find few signs of human life here, aside from a few signs and trails. Nature and wildlife make up most of the island.

The quiet forests provide shade to hikers as they walk along the island’s paths. These pretty trees give homes to many birds, rodents, insects, and other wildlife.
