If you want to get up high among the mountains, the Alpine Meadow Trail just outside of Homer, Alaska, gives you breathtaking views as you hike among the wildflowers. This wonderful trail offers peekaboo views of the glaciers across Kachemak Bay, and is easy enough for the whole family to hike.

Maui Paddler/ Hiker / AllTrails This is a great, easy hike for all skill levels. It’s located inside Eveline State Recreation Site just outside of Homer, Alaska in Fritz Creek.

Unlike many alpine hikes you’ll find in Alaska, this hike meanders across rolling terrain.

It’s a nice easy 1.4 mile loop around the area.

Maui Paddler/ Hiker / AllTrails There’s a minimal 170 feet of elevation gain, and you’ll be hiking a path through wildflower fields. This is perfect for a slower day, or if you’re taking the kids for a hike.

This spot is a treasure that many visit all year round.

The trailhead is 13.8 miles out from Homer on East End Road.
