One fantastic location to check out is the secluded Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in northwestern New Mexico.

The national monument has several trails you can check out but today we’re going to highlight the Slot Canyon Trail.
sarowen/Flickr The trek through this trail feels something like going through a rock maze since you will be hiking through a slot canyon and up to an overlook. It measures approximately three miles over and back and is a moderately difficult trail.
It’s a stunning hike, to say the least. You’ll find yourself slipping through the slot canyon with sand-covered floors.

The Slot Canyon Trail is located at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument, about 40 miles west of Santa Fe.
