Gumbo is a big deal here in the Magnolia State, so it should come as no surprise that there’s a restaurant that specializes in the delicious dish. And after one bite, you’ll see (or should I say taste) why the gumbo is consistently named Jackson’s best.

Just like everything else on the menu, the gumbo is made fresh daily. It’s also made using only the best ingredients.

It’s not just the deliciousness of the gumbo that makes the eatery a must-visit. There’s also the variety of gumbo that’s sure to impress.

The most popular is the House Surf and Turf Gumbo, which features fresh gulf jumbo shrimp, crab, crawfish, chicken, sausage and okra.

Other gumbo options include All Seafood Gumbo, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, and Vegetarian Gumbo. Even better, you can get it by the bowl or in a to-go quart to take home. Oh, and did we mention you can add crab and lobster tails to your gumbo?

Gumbo isn’t the only way to satisfy your Cajun craving, though. The menu features plenty of other Cajun classics, including jambalaya, crawfish etouffée, red beans and rice, and more.

Cajun pots are also on the menu and a huge hit with customers. The hearty dish is described as a classic “junk pot” – complete with Cajun style turkey necks and perfectly seasoned potatoes, corn, and sausage.

The menu isn’t the only thing that gives off Cajun vibes, though. There’s also the eatery’s appearance, which is reminiscent of the little restaurants that fill New Orleans.
